March Feature: Tex-Mex Rice Bowl

This month we are headed south with our feature bowl. Spring has almost sprung but we all need a little warm up and Railtown is ready to deliver. The Tex Mex Bowl will supply you with a little spice and a whole lot of fresh flavours; a fiesta in a bowl. The base of our bowl is a delicious Mexi rice filled with flavour enhancing, onion, garlic, jalapeno and a blend of Tex Mex spices. Nestled on top of the rice is our own house made pulled pork that has been smoked to perfection and rubbed with the same spices that appear in the Mexi rice. The next players to appear at this fiesta are some pink pickled red onion, a crunchy red cabbage slaw and some freshly smashed avocado. What is a fiesta without some chips and salsa? This bowls delivers on both. A colourful mix of charred corn, tomatoes, jalapeno, black beans, onions, cilantro, lime and spices is combined to create salsa perfection and the whole bowl is topped with tri-coloured crispy tortilla strips. A delicious and tangy cilantro lime dressing is the final addition to this non-stop party south of the border.
